Continental CC6 vs UC6: When you are looking over what tire products Continental has for its Asia market you will notice something peculiar. Based on our tire price table , we found out the CC6 and UC6 actually cross paths for 5 sizes. ( 185/55R16, 185/60R15, 195/55R15, 205/55R16, 215/60R16) This begs the question, what are the main differences of these 2 tires and why Continental would have 2 main products serving similar tire sizes?

With the tagline of “Extreme short braking distances in dry and wet road conditions” UC6 label values reflects its good wet braking capability. CC6 could only muster a “C” label in comparison to the “B” label of UC6.
Rolling Resistance
Continental Ultra Contact (UC6) : C
Continental Comfort 6 (CC6) : D
Both tires are not the best when it comes to rolling resistance. As the target conflict of wet vs rolling resistance is generally very hard to solve. However UC6 is again superior compare to CC6 being one class above at label “C”.
UTQG wear rating
Continental Ultra Contact (UC6) : 340
Continental Comfort 6 (CC6) : 380
When it comes to wear, CC6 shows a much higher tread wear value compare to UC6. So it should theoretically give you a much higher mileage performance.
Summary
Overall. UC6 is far superior when it comes to wet braking and rolling resistance. In both performance mentioned UC6 is 1 label class above CC6. However CC6 has a slight advantage when it comes its UTQG wear rating. Couple on its strong performances in noise, it could be a matter of your own personal choice which tire suit you better.
