General Grabber AT3 vs Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA: an off-road battle between two all-terrain tires with very different personalities. Results: General Grabber AT3 vs Falken Wildpeak AT AT3WA
Results below were taken from the ADAC’s “2025 All Terrain Test“. A total of 8 tires were tested this time around. The graph below shows the comparison between General Grabber AT3 vs Falken Wildpeak AT AT3WA based on the relevant performance category. The General Grabber AT3 was set as a reference hence at the 100% mark. Note that for subjective evaluation, we equate 1 point as 5%. Hence for example if tire A is graded 7 while tire B is graded 6, A is better than B by 5%.
As both tires are carry the 3 peak mountain logo, ADAC has included snow in its testing portfolio. The tire size of interest is 225/65R17 which is a common tire size for Honda CRV. You can check out our latest tire size table for more information. The testing vehicle is a Volkswagen Amarok.
Wet
In wet braking, the Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA stopped in 39.7 metres, 2.1 metres shorter than the General Grabber AT3 at 41.8 metres, giving the Falken a 5% advantage. In straight aquaplaning, the Falken maintained grip up to 96.5 km/h, 3.7 km/h faster than the General at 92.8 km/h, which is a 4% advantage. Overall, the Falken delivers the stronger wet performance, with shorter braking distances and better resistance to aquaplaning.

Snow
In snow braking, the General Grabber AT3 stopped in 11.1 metres, 0.3 metres shorter than the Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA at 11.4 metres, giving the General a 3% advantage. However, in snow traction, the Falken accelerated in 1.51 seconds, 0.04 seconds quicker than the General at 1.55 seconds, giving the Falken a 3% advantage. Overall, the result is evenly matched: the General brakes slightly better, while the Falken delivers slightly stronger snow traction.

Gravel
In gravel traction, the General Grabber AT3 completed the run in 3.32 seconds, 0.08 seconds quicker than the Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA at 3.40 seconds, giving the General a 2% advantage. Overall, the Grabber AT3 delivers slightly stronger traction on loose gravel.

Dry
In dry braking, both the General Grabber AT3 and Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA stopped in exactly 47.2 metres, resulting in no difference between them. Overall, dry braking is a complete tie, with neither tire holding an advantage.

- 0% in dry braking
Mileage & UTQG ratings
The General Grabber AT3 carries a UTQG treadwear rating of 560, compared with 500 for the Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA. That is a 60-point difference, giving the General a 12% higher treadwear rating. Both tires receive the same A traction and A temperature grades. Based on UTQG alone, the Grabber AT3 should offer the stronger tread-life potential.

Price
For the tested 225/65R17 size, the General Grabber AT3 costs €131, while the Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA is €113. That makes the Falken €18 cheaper, or 16% less expensive. Despite its lower price, the Falken also delivers stronger wet performance, making it the better-value option, while the General justifies part of its premium with a higher UTQG treadwear rating.

Summary
From my perspective, the Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA is the better all-round value, with stronger wet grip, slightly better snow traction and a much lower price. The General Grabber AT3 fights back with better snow braking, stronger gravel traction and a higher UTQG treadwear rating. I would choose the Falken for road-focused daily use, while the General is the better pick for drivers who prioritize durability and loose-surface performance.
