The results presented here are from the AutoBild’s 2025 Summer EV Tire Test, where 8 of the best summer EV tire models were selected. In wet handling, Hankook is also faster at 74.4 km/h, compared to 72.9 km/h for Goodyear, giving it a 1.5 km/h advantage, or 2% better performance.
Straight aquaplaning also favors Hankook, reaching 74.8 km/h versus 71.5 km/h, which is a 3.3 km/h higher slipping speed, or 4% better aquaplaning resistance. Overall, the Hankook iON Evo clearly leads in the wet, with stronger braking, faster handling, and better aquaplaning safety.

Efficiency
In rolling resistance, the Hankook iON Evo records 6.81 N/kN, while the Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV is higher at 7.15 N/kN. That gives Hankook a 0.34 N/kN lower rolling resistance, or 5% better efficiency. This also translates into range, where Hankook reaches 381.3 km, compared to 373.1 km for Goodyear. That is an 8.2 km longer driving range, or 2% better range performance.
Overall, the Hankook iON Evo shows its EV-focused advantage here, delivering lower rolling resistance and slightly better range.

Summary
From my point of view, the Hankook iON Evo is the stronger performance tire in this comparison. It leads clearly in wet braking, wet handling, aquaplaning resistance, dry braking, dry handling, rolling resistance, and EV driving range, which fits well with its positioning as an EV-focused tire.
The Goodyear EfficientGrip 2 SUV, however, still has two important advantages. It delivers 14% better wear life, making it the more durable option, and it is also 7% cheaper, giving it the stronger value proposition. Overall, choose the Hankook for stronger safety, efficiency, and EV performance; choose the Goodyear if mileage and price matter more.
