Results below were taken from the 2025 Auto Bild EV All Season Tire Test with a total of 3 tires tested. The graph below shows the comparison between Michelin CrossClimate 2 vs Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV based on the relevant performance category. The Michelin CrossClimate 2 tire was set as a reference hence at the 100% mark.

It’s important to note that for subjective tests, the evaluation was based on average lap speed which is commonly used in magazine tests. In wet braking from 100 to 0 km/h, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 stopped 2.0 meters earlier than the Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV, giving it a 5% advantage. During wet handling, the CrossClimate 2 completed the lap just 0.3 km/h faster, a marginal 0% difference in speed. However, in straight-line aquaplaning, the Michelin held on until 2.0 km/h faster than the Vredestein, showing a 2% better resistance to hydroplaning.

Overall, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 has a clear edge in wet braking and aquaplaning, with nearly equal handling speed, making it the more dependable choice in rainy conditions.

Snow

In snow braking from 50 to 0 km/h, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 stopped 3.3 meters shorter than the Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV, a 9% advantage. In snow traction from 0 to 40 km/h, the Michelin accelerated 0.7 seconds quicker, translating to a 10% gain. On the snow handling course, the CrossClimate 2 was 2.2 seconds faster per lap, a 4% improvement over the Vredestein.

In summary, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 outperforms the Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV across all snow tests, offering stronger braking, quicker acceleration, and more confident handling in winter conditions.

Dry

In dry braking from 100 to 0 km/h, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 stopped 2.0 meters earlier than the Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV, giving it a 5% advantage. However, in dry handling, the Vredestein completed the lap 0.5 seconds faster, which is a negligible 0% improvement over the Michelin.

Rolling Resistance

The Michelin CrossClimate 2 has a rolling resistance of 7.03 N/kN, which is 0.42 N/kN lower than the Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV’s 7.45 N/kN. That gives Michelin a 6% advantage in rolling resistance. In short, the CrossClimate 2 is more energy-efficient, helping reduce fuel consumption or extend EV range slightly better than the Vredestein.

Price

In 245/45R19, the Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV costs €180, while the Michelin CrossClimate 2 is priced at €235. That makes the Vredestein 30% cheaper than the Michelin, offering significant savings upfront.

Conclusion

As a tire expert, I’d call the Michelin CrossClimate 2 the clear winner. It delivers stronger performance in wet, snow, and rolling resistance tests, with better braking, traction, and efficiency across the board. While the Vredestein is cheaper, the CrossClimate 2 offers superior all-weather safety and balance—worth the premium in my view.
