Continental MC6 vs Michelin Primacy 4st: With the results from the press test, I thought it would be a good idea to make a one on one comparison between the 2 best touring tire in the APAC market. Lets dive down into the results.

The graph above shows the comparison between Primacy 4st vs MC6. The MC6 was set as a reference hence at the 0 line. If the numbers are displayed on the right hand side this signifies Primacy 4st is better in that particular category.

Wet

Primacy 4st clearly dominates when it comes the the wet criteria.

  • + 5.6% in wet braking
  • + 0.3% in wet handling
  • + 1.7% in aquaplaning

It delivers on the promise that they are better than the competition when it comes to wet braking while has a better wet handling and aquaplaning compare to the MC6.

Dry

MC6 was slightly ahead when it comes to dry handling while both tires were equal matched when it comes to dry braking.

Primacy 4st:

  • == in dry braking
  • – 0.4% in dry handling

Noise Vibration & Hardness (NVH)

MC6 is clearly the more comfortable tire between the two. Primacy 4st is -7.1% compare to MC6. However the Primacy 4st just show a slight edge when it comes to interior noise.

Primacy 4st:

  • – 7.1% in comfort
  • + 0.2% in interior noise

Rolling Resistance

Primacy 4st came out on top in saving fuel with a clear advantage of 4.8%. Depending on your driving style, this would allow you to save more fuel compare to MC6.

Primacy 4st:

  • +4.8% in rolling resistance

Summary

Primacy 4st shows really strong performance in wet and rolling resistance against MC6. If comfort is the main thing for you, MC6 would be a good choice. Apart from that the clear performance winner is Michelin Primacy 4st !
