BFGoodrich Advantage Control vs Michelin Crossclimate 2

BFGoodrich Advantage Control vs Michelin Crossclimate 2

BFGoodrich Advantage Control vs Michelin Crossclimate 2: All season tires have always been the go to tires for the American market and this segment has been well established across the years. We have written quite extensively about Michelin’s CrossClimate 2 as the gold standard for all season tires with an incredible all round balance portfolio.

This time around we picked up another all season challenger in the form of BFGoodrich’s Advantage Control. This tireline was recently launched in 2021 and covers a large range of passenger cars and crossovers. The major difference between the tires is that CrossClimate 2 comes with a 3 peak mountain logo while Advantage Control only has the M+S logo on it. CrossClimate 2 was launched in 2020 and covers a wide variety of sizes. Let’s put them head to head and see who comes out on top !

BFGoodrich Advantage Control vs Michelin Crossclimate 2

BFGoodrich Advantage Control and Michelin Crossclimate 2 are both high-quality tire brands that offer a range of tire models suitable for different types of vehicles and driving conditions.

BFGoodrich Advantage Control

BFGoodrich Advantage Control is a line of all-season tires designed for passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks. These tires are designed to provide good traction in wet and dry conditions, as well as a smooth, comfortable ride. Some key features of the BFGoodrich Advantage Control tires include:

  • Tread patterns designed to channel water away from the tire to improve wet traction
  • Multi-Zone Tension technology that helps to maintain even tire wear
  • A tread compound that helps to improve grip in both wet and dry conditions
Michelin Crossclimate 2

Michelin Crossclimate 2 is also an all-season tire designed for passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks. These tires are designed to provide good traction in wet and dry conditions, as well as a long tread life. Some key features of the Michelin Crossclimate 2 tires include:

  • A tread pattern designed to improve wet and dry traction
  • Silica-based tread compound that helps to improve grip in both wet and dry conditions
  • A tread pattern that helps to reduce road noise for a quieter ride

Winter : 3 peak mountain

  • CrossClimate 2: Yes
  • Advantage Control: No
3 peak mountain logo

Both tires are classified in the grand touring all season segment. However only CrossClimate 2 has the elusive 3 peak mountain logo which qualifies legally as a winter tire. All tires which have this certification are required to pass a snow traction threshold as defined by the regulation. In this respect, it is quite safe to say that CrossClimate 2’s winter performances will out pace Advantage Control.
