Results below were taken from the TÜV SÜD 2025 test. A total of 5 tires were tested this time around in Tire Rack’s own proving ground. In the wet, the Pirelli Scorpion 3 SUV takes the early lead over the Michelin Primacy 5, matching it closely in wet braking and straight aquaplaning at just 1% better, but opening a much clearer 9% advantage in wet handling. That makes the Pirelli the more dynamic and confidence-inspiring choice on a wet SUV handling course, while the Michelin remains highly competitive in outright braking and aquaplaning resistance.

From my tire-expert perspective, the Pirelli Scorpion 3 SUV is currently the stronger value choice, with better wet handling, stronger dry braking and a 24% lower price, while the Michelin Primacy 5 answers with clearly better rolling resistance and likely stronger efficiency. However, the all-important mileage results are still missing, and that could completely tip this premium SUV battle—especially if Michelin’s expected longevity offsets its higher purchase price.
