Results: Bridgestone Potenza Sport vs Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO
Results below were taken from the Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO press release. The graph below shows the comparison between Bridgestone Potenza Sport vs Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO based on the relevant performance category. The Bridgestone Potenza Sport was set as a reference hence at the 100% mark.
The tire size of interest is a 235/35 R19 for wet, dry, & mileage test while the 245/35 R18 for rolling resistance test.

Wet
In wet braking, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO stops about 5% shorter than the Potenza Sport. That’s roughly the difference of a couple of metres in a full-force stop from highway speed, so the EVO gives you clearly stronger grip and a more secure feeling in heavy rain compared with its predecessor.

Dry
In dry braking, the Potenza Sport EVO stops around 2% shorter than the Potenza Sport, which translates to roughly 1 metre less from highway speed. It’s a small but meaningful gain, showing that the EVO tightens up stopping performance and feels a bit more secure when you hit the brakes hard on dry roads.

Mileage
In mileage, the Potenza Sport EVO lasts about 15% longer than the Potenza Sport. In real terms, that’s roughly 6,000 additional kilometres. The EVO clearly offers a meaningful boost in durability, making it the more cost-efficient choice over time.

Rolling Resistance
In rolling resistance, the Potenza Sport EVO performs 6% better than the Potenza Sport. That roughly translates to a small but measurable reduction in fuel or energy use, since the EVO rolls more efficiently and wastes less energy as heat. It isn’t a dramatic difference on its own, but it does make the EVO the more efficient and lighter-feeling tyre in everyday driving.

Conclusion
From a tyre-engineer point of view, the Bridgestone Potenza Sport EVO’s triangle of trade-offs — mileage, rolling resistance, and wet braking — has clearly shifted in the right direction. You almost never see meaningful gains in all three at once, yet the Potenza Sport EVO manages longer life, better efficiency, and stronger wet stopping. It’s an impressive step forward on paper, and I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how it performs in real-world testing.
