Malaysia Tire Price: When it comes to buying tires, we all know the drill. “How much will it cost ?” This is the most common question people will ask. Once the price is given, intuitively the mental calculation starts to flow and few seconds later we decide whether it is a yes or no. With the data we have in our table/app, I would like to share some few aspects on how the tire prices are structured to give you a better feeling on the current landscape.

So most of you guys who owns a higher inch tire (18″ and above) would realize their tires cost a lot. This is very true and you can see from the graph above that the prices do rise exponentially with respect to your rim size. A 18″ tire cost you averagely RM 614 but a 19″ tire cost you an average of RM726. On the other spectrum, we have a 14″ tire costing about RM 165 (yay Myvi users !). Loosely speaking a set of 4x Myvi tires cost the same as a single 18″ tire 🙂
Longer width, higher price

I was surprise that there was a relationship between the tire width and the prices. The longer your tire width , the higher your tire prices. Most of the time the a higher tire width do comes with a higher rim size but not all the time. This partly explains the trend. The price increase is actually quite linear for every 10mm incremental of tire width
