This time around we picked up another all season challenger in the form of Goodyear’s Assurance WeatherReady. This tireline was launched in 2017 and covers a large range of passenger cars and crossovers Assurance WeatherReady is Goodyear’s answer against the well known CrossClimate 2 as both tires have the elusive 3 peak mountain logo. Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady and Michelin CrossClimate 2 are both all-season tires that are designed to provide good traction and handling in a variety of weather conditions, including light snow.

The Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady is a touring tire that is designed to provide a comfortable ride and long tread life. The mileage warranty for CrossClimate 2 & Assurance WeatherReady is 60,000 miles. However, looking at the UTQG tread wear values, Assurance WeatherReady has a higher rating of 700 compared to 640 of CrossClimate 2. Nonetheless we can expect a close mileage capacity for both tires and they should have roughly the same wear rate.

The big difference when comparing these 2 tires lies in the wet traction as CrossClimate 2 only has a label “B” while Assurance WeatherReady was ranked higher with label “A”. This means that with certain probability, Assurance WeatherReady is better in wet performances compared to CrossClimate 2.

Being the undisputed technology leader, we would expect Michelin to command the highest priced tire in the market. This was in alignment as CrossClimate 2 was 12 dollars more expensive than Assurance WeatherReady.
