But now Continental wants a piece of that all-weather crown. So the question is simple: can the new SecureContact AW really challenge Goodyear at its own game, or is the WeatherReady 2 still the tire to beat?

Conclusion:

From a tire expert point of view, I think the Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady 2 is the stronger overall tire. It has clear advantages in wet braking, dry braking, winter rating, dry handling, and especially mileage, where it looks far more durable over the long run. The Continental SecureContact AW still makes a compelling case because it is quieter, more fuel efficient, has equal ride comfort, better wet handling, and costs $15 less per tire. But if I had to choose the tire with the more complete performance package, I would lean toward the Goodyear.
